How does God love the people?
John 3:16 is one of the most important verses in the Bible because it tells us that God's eternal love for humanity is the whole point of the Bible. God’s love for man was so strong that he was willing to sacrifice his own beloved son. What exactly does this Godly love consist of? The answer can very well be found in the original Hebraic Bible.
Love in Hebrew
People receive God’s love and in return demonstrate their own love for God: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all of your soul and with all of your might” (Deut. 6:5). The Biblical “love” in this verse is different from the “love” that we find in romance. The Hebrew word for love here is ahav (אהב). This word does not refer to amorous love but faithfulness.

Loving God means being loyal to him even if it means giving up earthly comforts. Hebrew teaches us that true Biblical love involves making difficult sacrifices, but the reward is well worth it.
