Throughout the Hebrew Bible, דבש (dvash) or honey, is always associated with blessings. In Exodus 3:7-8 God tells Moses “'I have surely seen the affliction of My people that are in Egypt…I know their pains; and I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians…unto a land flowing with milk and honey.” God promises to soothe the Israelites’ pain, and his promise to them includes the blessed land of Israel, full of honey!

Again in Deuteronomy 6:3 God instructs the Israelites “Hear, Israel, and be careful to obey, so that it may go well with you and that you may increase greatly in a land flowing with milk and honey.” Once again, God promises sweetness so long as his command is observed.

Everywhere we turn in the Hebrew Bible we discover that honey, דבש (dvash), is a sign of God’s blessings. When we turn back to the original Hebrew word of the Scripture, we can see what blessings God has in store for us, the honey that He has promised.

Come join us in a happy and sweet new year and find out what else God has in store for you.

Blessings to you and yours.
